Co-Creation, a new Business Strategy

1. Co…Er, What Sorry?

Co-Creation. Essentially collaborating with your customers to solve problems and develop ideas via a unified perspective and approach. It often involves customers/ consumers working directly with a client organisation to define and create anything from its business strategy and communications to products and even experiences.

Consumers are often experts in their own right, whether the tech addict helping generate new mobile applications or the housewife helping repositioning a globally renowned air freshener. Whatever their background or particular expertise, Co-Creation is about approaching them as equals and partners in the creation process.

2. Sounds a bit free-form and risky…

Not at all. Co-creation isn't about handing over complete control to ‘the crowd' (although crowd-sourcing and harnessing crowd wisdom is often one stage in the process) but a model of open invitation.  The Co-Creation process can span many disiplines and backgrounds with ideas generated and validated by producers and consumers together.

Working co-creatively means interacting  constructively with your audience to generate ideas together not just listening to their opinions via the classic stimulas/ response model that dominates the market research industry. It's about translating business language into everyday words helping to evole concepts into more lifelike entities.

3. Ok but why not "Co" create and why now?

The interest in Co-Creation has ramped in line with the recent dramatic changes across the communication landscape. Alongside the evolution of the Internet it's near-impossible to overestimate social media's influence in empowering consumers.

Not just in voicing their opinions, but in creating and distributing their own content and as active stakeholders ub the brands they consume, in setting a new agenda for producer-consumer relationships.

In many ways the advent of Co-Creation is a corollary of these developments.

Social media has created a real-time collective mind where people are becoming used to on-going interactions (not campaigns), immediately (not asynchronous responses) and closeness (not ivory tower distance) to the brands they admire.

That's forcing businesses to switch open and collaborative approaches where they have to listen, engage, and collaborate with their audience with their audiences in shaping what they do in order to stay relevant.

Brands have always placed great store in listening  to their customers, but in the current economic climate staying close and staying constantly close has become more important that ever.

4. Ok so how's it done?

There are many different approaches but the heart of the model we've adopted at Face is typically a face-to-face workshop. The ideal involves a multi-staged approach incorporating insight generation/ opportunity shaping, ideation, validation, and refinement. We often talk about reversing the research funnel starting by consulting the crowd, moving on to work with defined online communities, then collaborating with an intimate group of co-creators.

5. The exploration and crowd-sourcing phase

Using social media monitoring, we scan the public social Internet to derive insight around a particular brand, category, occasion, need state, or demographic. We then analyse this content and use the resulting insights to define a research agenda to take into a crowd-sourcing phase.

Harnessing the wisdom of the crowd helps drill down further into these insights. Crowd-sourcing can be used to uncover problems and divine top-line solutions to a particular issue. This phase is also useful in quantifying opinions and issues; to ask qualitative questions of quantitative samples.

A second stage typically involves convening a bespoke online project community to explore any hunches, hypotheses, and issues in greater depth.

6. The Co-Creation phase

As outlined above, the Co-Creation phase brings together the professionals and consumers to brainstorm and problem solve, capitalising, developing and building upon the insights, understanding (and potentially the initial solutions) derived in the initial stage to produce "worked up" solutions.

Encouraging creative thinking and ideas in people who might not ordinarily consider themselves "creative thinkers" is something of an art, honed by carefully structuring and facilitating both the workshops and the wider process. Everything must be fine-tuned to make the face-to-face part as effective as possible.

7. The Validation phase

Where time and budget allow we advocate taking workshop outputs back online for further refinement and validation.

One invaluable aspect of Co-Creation outputs is the fact they're articulated in consumer ‘language' rather than marketing speak. Taking concepts back online exposes them to a further relevant and constructively -critical audience that can pick ideas apart on the level of individual words and phrases. They can also comment on visualisation and other aspects  of the articulation to help ensure ideas are expressed as clearly and relevantly as possible.

8. How are people using it, and how successfully?

There have been several high-profile examples of fruitful Co-Creation projects, including Unilever's Lynx/ Ace Twist campaign and Nokia which is using Co-Creation in its development of concepts and future usage and functionalities.

One recent Nokia project , aimed at securing relevance for the brand in the upper end of the marketplace, saw it engage with a community of tech  leaders to explore  problems and shortcomings in the smartphone category.

Armed with the highest-ranked and rated problems (as identified by the crowdsourcing stage), the resulting two-day Co-Creation workshop united a number of highly-engaged, tech savvy consumers with Nokia's designers and design researchers.

This is Co-Creation at a very high level super users and producers collaborating on materials that eventually became part of Nokia's concepting and design agenda for 2012.

9. What makes Co-Creation so valuable?

Driven by broadening array of clear, tangible benefits, more and more businesses are beginning to recognise the value of Co-Creation  as a valuable approach to both business strategy and consumer engagement.

It helps break the R&D ‘yo-yo' effect, wherein clients go back and forth between creative agencies, research, agencies, and their audience. By working with consumers, rather than directing stuff at them and hoping it will stick, producers get a real sense of what works and what doesn't.

Idea's emerge, develop, and are refined and validated with the audience in real time. No need to wait around for endless tests.

In so many cases, the proof really is in the pudding. Time and time again we find co-created concepts outperforming siloed concepts in quant tests and across all manner of benchmarks. Consumer articulation and validation  at the point of idea generation means outputs are richer and more complete and, ultimately, that ideas can move to realisation (and to market) more quickly and cost-effectively.

Business Marketing Strategy

What is it and who needs one?

The term business marketing strategy might sound like it is esoteric or stratospheric, so let's take the mystery out of it so you can devise and implement your own business marketing strategy that fits in to your small business plan.

Strategy comes from a Greek word "stratagein" meaning "to be a general".  Think of a strategy as an overall plan of action needed to win a war.  The smaller, detailed actions are called tactics.  You can have tactical plans, which help you achieve your strategic marketing plan or overall business marketing strategy. That's simple enough, isn't it?

A business marketing strategy or strategic marketing plan is an overall plan of marketing actions you intend to take in order to accomplish a specific goal for your company.

Start with a goal: million in sales this year; expand into new premises by a certain date; double the size of the company in 2 years… whatever the goal may be.  Something realistic but challenging.  That's the "war" you want to win.  Guess who the general is.

Then work out a simple, overall plan of the major marketing steps needed to accomplish that (for example):

Publish a newsletter for all existing customers and mail out quarterly.

Work out 4 special offers in the year and promote them to all our customers.

Set up on-line shopping and expand the web site.

Direct mail campaign promoting the web site to all customers.

Get mailing lists of (target markets) and do a series of 3 mailings of postcards to them and follow up on and close all leads.

Etc

You get the idea.  Don't rush this. Do your homework.  What worked in the past?  Read up on successful marketing campaigns.

Your business marketing strategy needs to be laid out in the right sequence and you should have some idea of budget when you write it.  "Run a series of 30 second TV ads during the Superbowl" might sound like a good thing to do but can you afford it?  On the other hand, when you build your business marketing strategy you mustn't try and cut corners. If you don't promote heavily, it doesn't matter how good your product or service is, no one will know about it and you will go broke.

What really works when it comes to marketing?

Many business owners don't have a good enough answer to this important question. I learned by a combination of study and trial and error.

From my own hard won experience I have discovered that a real marketing campaign will take into consideration at least the seven points which are outlined below:

1.  Target Your Market

Your marketing will produce the best results for the lowest cost when you target prospects with the greatest need for what you offer.

Identify the best people to send your postcards to. Design your postcards to appeal to their greatest need.

If you are able to break down your target market into sub markets you can then write postcards that specifically speak to the needs of those people (an example is breaking down your own customer list into customers who buy most often, customers who spend the most money with you, customers who have been your customers the longest and then making them special offers based on the category they fit into).

2.  Create A USP For Your Business.

USP stands for "Unique Selling Proposition".

It is a statement of what is different about your company and its products. Your USP gives the reason people should do business with you. It amplifies the benefit of doing business with you and your company. My USP is POSTCARD MARKETING EXPERTS.

Create your own USP and put it on all your promotional materials, invoices, shipping labels etc.

Use your USP to communicate the benefit of doing business with you and why you are better than any of your competitors.

3.  Always Make an Offer.

Make sure you ask your prospects and customers to do something when they receive your postcard. By offering them something you know they are likely to want and giving them a smooth path to respond on, you are making it easy and desirable for them to respond.

4.  Create and Maintain a Database of The Customer Information You Collect From The Responses To Your Mailings.

Most people who receive a postcard from you won't contact you the first time they receive one.

But once they contact you, you must create and maintain a database which allows you to repeatedly contact them with offers to respond to.

Fifty percent or more of many businesses' sales come as a result of following up with people who were previously contacted, but didn't buy right away.

No kidding, repeat contact does drive sales. One-time mailings can get response, but are bound to leave sales on the table. Those sales can be picked up with repeated mailings.

5.  Take Away the Fear of Loss

People don't want to be fooled, plain and simple. Unfortunately trust does not run high today between customers and businesses in general. People have been disappointed too many times by being sold one thing and getting another.

A guarantee or warranty is a good way to reduce or eliminate the customers' risk of getting something other than what they bargained for.

Guarantees and warranties increase response and sales by reducing customer risk.

6.  Expand Your Product Line

Getting new customers is more expensive than selling to existing ones. By regularly developing new products and services to sell to your customers and offering these new products and services to them, you can expand your business efficiently and easily.

7.  Test Your Postcard Promotions

Track the effectiveness of your postcard mailings. How many people responded to your mailing? What dollar amount of sales resulted from those responses?

Is the money you are spending to attract new business giving you a good return? What can you do to make your marketing more effective? Change your offer, headline, price, the timing of your offer. When you do track the results and improve your response.

These are the points to follow when designing your own marketing strategy.  When you are done, you will have laid out the steps needed to accomplish your goal using existing resources to achieve a great marketing ROI (return on investment).

After that, you simply have to get those steps executed and that might require further planning but it is all in the context of your main business marketing strategy.

Environmental Strategy, Green Business

Restaurants are fast becoming world’s principal source of waste production plus energy consumption. This matter is getting severe day by day thereby taking a serious toll on to the environment strategy. A survey done by Pacific Gas & Electric’s Food Service Technology Center states that the restaurants use nearly five times extra energy per square foot than the majority of commercial buildings hampering the green business policy. Inefficiency in food storage, food preparation plus water usage are main contributors to this problem. The food itself raises a number of environmental concerns.

Restaurants are catered to generate terrific amount of waste. On an average, a restaurant can produce up to 150,000 pounds of garbage each year. Besides on-site energy consumption, ingredient transport from thousands of miles away is yet another source of carbon emissions.

Factory farms and concentrated animal feeding operations (CAFOs) are a huge non-point source of runoff pollution, degrading surface and groundwater supplies.

High levels of nitrates and phosphorous in agricultural runoff cause algal blooms which are severely depleting oxygen levels producing vast “dead zones”. CAFOs keep animals in restrained, unhealthy spaces thus compromising with the health and general well-being of the livestock pre-slaughter.

High nitrate levels in well water are causing blue baby syndrome in infants, jeopardizing circulatory and heart health of newborns and pregnant women. Institutionalized greening initiatives are emerging to modify the current restaurant procedures through energy and water conservation, waste reduction, and sustainable purchasing. A few examples of these initiatives are being discussed as follows:

•Green Restaurant Association:
This association was formed in 1990, with an aim to create a sustainable restaurant industry. It provided tools for restaurants, consumers, manufacturers as well as distributors with an aim to make choices which would be healthy for the environment. The GRA provides some certification standards in order to reward restaurants, restaurant renovators or new build restaurants. These certifications cover a number of environmental categories including waste reduction and recycling, sustainable food, and chemical and pollution reduction.

•Green Seal:
Established in 1989, Green Seal sets nationally-recognized standards for green restaurants, basing its criteria in life-cycle analysis and scientific research. It is an independent non-profit organization offering third-party certification for products and companies that meet certain sustainability standards. Green Seal certification is accompanied by site audits and regular monitoring to ensure the maintenance of sustainability standards.

•Conserve Initiative:
The National Restaurant Association’s Conserve Initiative  is an online resource developed by the restaurant industry for the restaurant industry. It helps restaurants to reduce energy, waste and water thereby cutting down costs.  The program features an easy-to-use checklist, divided into six categories, providing over 90 industry-tested best practices for maintain restaurant standards and reducing the waste production.

Implementation of Business Strategy With Suitable Training

Many people have stated that leaders and managers should be one and the same, however this clearly is not the case in many businesses. In an ideal world all managers would be leaders and all leaders would be managers, unfortunately we are faced with the reality of many leaders letting management skills and many managers lacking leadership skills. What we need to do is perhaps seek a middle-of-the-road solution whereupon we can instill the desired traits into the relevant people. This can be done via a suitably designed management training programme, which encourages leadership skills and qualities.

Management training has often been underestimated, which leads to a lack of suitably skilled and or qualified personnel to lead an organization terms of the desired strategies and overall objectives and goals. One could therefore deduce that this underestimation of management training can seriously the business as a whole, specifically with regard's to the strategies that are not implemented correctly.

Management training can be conducted in a variety of means and via a wide selection of service providers.

This is naturally all relative to price and budget, what many business owners fail to realise is that this very management training can be conducted primarily on an in-house basis. This will allow the business owner or senior executive to establish a firm foundation with the earmarked potential manager in terms of that specific business' requirements.

Should the company be seeking to establish an alternative strategic direction, the most logical step would be to seek outsourced training in line with the desired strategies to be implemented. This is often the case when companies seek to implement strategies and practices that are not very well known within the areas of operation.

It would be foolish to consider a management decision to be implemented effectively by an individual who lacks both experience and training in line with the desired outcome of the company.

Implementation of a new strategy requires that the leader has a suitable relationship with his subordinates, in order to ensure a smooth and problem free transition within the implementation phase. Times have changed a lot of uncertainty can cause a fair amount of friction and disputes within the workplace environment. This requires the mentioned leadership qualities as well as sufficient management skills to pull the workforce together and to enable a positive and progressive environment.

The business owner has to consider the future leaders of the business alongside the future of the company itself. Management training should be implemented alongside with the goals and objectives as well as the strategic direction of the company in a holistic business plan and direction, the manager and or leader, preferably both should be allowed to grow from within the company and should be exposed to suitable training and leadership development opportunities.

Niche Small Business Marketing Strategy

The classic catch-phrase of “pick a niche to get rich” is probably a bit over used. It is used by countless business coaches, trainers, and speakers. The phrase is usually well intentioned. Going after the big markets is expensive. It would be nice to compete head to head in major markets like Health, Consumer Products, Beverages, etc, but those take a big pocket book.
Most entrepreneurs want to enjoy freedom. Yes, of course, a goal is financial gain, but usually isn’t the primary reason for starting a business. When most people look to create a business they want something they enjoy. What would be the point of creating a business that you don’t enjoy doing?
Many people get trapped starting a new business by looking at just a few items:
1. How man of “X” units can I sell?
2. What is the gross profit on “X” unit?
That’s usually where it stops. People want to know the “bottom line” of the business they are getting into. They look to transform their marketing strategy to sell the “X” product without much thought of anything other than the gross profit (and hopefully net profit). With this approach you might create a business that you can make money at, but you won’t stick with it for long.
In selecting a niche for your business, whether you have a business operating right now or not comes down to more than just the numbers. When selecting a niche for business, I invite you to consider the following:
1. What do you have a passion for?
2. How can you match your passion to a marketing plan?
3. How can you match your passion to a market that is in need?
4. What would make you get up daily and be excited to take action?
When you can answer a minimum of the previous four questions you will be able to discover a niche that matches your budget and your personality. Choosing a niche just based on money won’t get you to the success that you desire. Selecting a niche just based on passion could leave you broke. Striking a balance of marketing strategy, the right niche, and your passion will bring you the net income you deserve.

Business Innovation Strategy

I truly believe that there is no eternal business. The world is changing constantly. It is causing the market changing so there is no reason why the business has to stay the way it is. Change or die.

As business leaders we need to realize that failures are normal and natural part of the innovation. Companies that succeed in launching new products have 35% failure rate. The leader has to be wise enough to accept, understand and be brave to take risks in order to achieve new success.

They need to identify the existing problems with the current products and develop a new approach to fix the problem before we decided to bring out a new kind of product. Accept customer complaints and protests. Process the input to creatively bring out a new output solution.

The leaders need to allocate the money to fund the research and development department with no hesitation.

They need to be proactive and implement positive attitude towards the early failures in the development.

The leaders also need to design an incentive based program for those who manage to bring real results and bring profits to the company. Fair portion and bonus preposition is essential to stimulate the employees entrepreneurship.

All of the efforts will be useless if the management do not have the commitment to innovate. They are the one who need to set examples and lead the innovation of the company from the inside out. If all the elements fulfilled then it is time to reap the result.

Crm - A Adaptive Social Business Strategy

CRM is a big conception, and it is not possible for an end user to understand it. He or she is busy in fulfilling his or her selling quota. The underlying business strategy is not understood by one single person. There are different reasons for the failure of it. An end user thinks the system as a cctv camera which just observes them to do work during the day.

A senior manager of a company wants to implement CRM with the best intentions of his mind. But the real conception is it needs a large organization own business unit manager and most of all everyone with their own options and sets of priorities.

There should have a chain of communication between everyone involved in customer relationship management. Without it you will not get a complete picture. Everyone involved in it should have a good understanding and trust on software as a service .Otherwise it can lead to unnecessary implementations of on site CRM. There may have some unseen technical challenges and cost.

If a CRM losses its dynamism then you will see the buyers lack of enthusiasm about the product. The sales force of a company should understand properly how the CRM system will benefit them and make their job easier and enjoyable. Here in lies the programs success.

Usually key sponsors are not involved in this project. Sometimes its requirements and priorities are not clear. No proper focus on the road map. These are the draw backs.

The most important matter is that many organizational leaders take CRM implementation as a department of IT and they pass it to the companys IT team and give them the daunting task of implementing a CRM system which will lightly involved numerous people across sales, marketing. All those people are from different backgrounds and with different interest.

Considering all these reasons you can say that the implementation is a system which totally depends on people and processes. It analyzes and improves a companys business rules. A clients psychology is very important matter. Moreover, there should have an interaction between internal teams and their customers. A large scale company which has numerous existing systems may present considerable a technical challenge. However a well thought out plan can solve all problems.

Small Business Marketing Strategy

Have you ever been to an awards ceremony for a company? Ceremonies where they share the results of different sales team members and hand out glass and plastic trophies for sales achievement? These ceremonies are generally thought of as morale boosters. They reward people for the hard work over the last quarter or year. After all it’s nice to be appreciated and receive public recognition. Even if it’s just a certificate in a frame, it feels good, right?

It’s nice when the president of your company recognizes your achievements. Sometimes you might have wondered if they even knew you existed! As you walk off the stage, what are you thinking? Are you really satisfied with that plastic trophy? Does it help you pay your bills?

Not that there is anything wrong with trophies, but they won’t help you go on vacation. That trophy won’t put your kids through college. Most of those trophies and awards are based off of GROSS income. How much of that income did you take home? What was your NET income?

While most companies focus on gross income, it’s your NET income that dictates your lifestyle. It’s your net income that will allow you to achieve your true goals. Instead of setting your goals at the gross income level, consider a focus on your net income.

Consider a strategy that forces you to focus on net income. To increase the money that ends in your checking account, consider the following two rules to live by:

•7% Rule – The 7% rule is your marketing budget. This should be the cost of acquiring a single customer (not lead). Take your average sale and multiply it by 7% and you will have what you can invest in getting new customers. That means if on average a sale is worth ,000 to you, you can invest to get that customer. Don’t buy into the hype of “just 1 customer and you break even) as that will leave you broke.

•Weekly Accounting – Regardless of your sales cycle make yourself do accounting weekly. This means that each week you need to pay all of your bills. If your sales cycle for your product or service normally takes 30 days, then you better amp up your sales to ensure you have something closing weekly. Increasing your net income means getting money coming into your small business weekly.

When your small business strategy has a focus on net income you will be able to get out of survival mode. Put the 7% rule and weekly accounting into action to start taking home more money today.

Discover Marketing Messages that will bring in more sales weekly.

Importance of Business Strategy

It is not necessary that an effective company need a unique concept but sometimes strategy is what performs through. Any eye-catching business plan can help you get all the interest. The strategy represents your whole perspective of its previous, existing and upcoming.

You can also give specific time to each of your product. Create factors of all the Durability, Weak points, Possibilities and Risks. So at any time you want to complete any choice you will be just need to do an immediate research on the factor list you have created and then you can make an effective decision.

Finance is what keeps your company high even at the trembling times. While creating business strategy the funds is made into account. Any web blog beginning with a inexpensive web host, the impact will not be there. For any top quality services you need great funds so that you can pay for expenses.

Defining Your Ecommerce Business Strategy

Launching an online store can be a foreboding exercise, no thanks in part to the deluge of technology questions you will need to answer along the way. However, before you jump into choosing the right ecommerce system for your online business, it pays to first take a close look at your needs and expectations from a business point of view.

Research your marketing needs
A common mistake is to assume that the revenue will start flowing the day you go live. The reality is quite different. Most online stores require considerable effort to promote. It’s crucial to gain an understanding of which online channels make the most sense as a promotional medium for your particular venture.

Will you focus on search marketing, social media channels, banner advertising on content sites, press releases or participating in forums? These and many other possibilities exist.

Part of your initial investigation into the very feasibility of your business must be to understand how difficult it will be to buy your new business the exposure it needs to generate customers, usually through an investment of both time and money.

Determining the right way to measure and manage each activity you embark upon within these channels will typically require either outside expertise, or a significant learning exercise to understand the space. It is not unusual for a new site to take 3-6 months to ramp up visitor levels and in many cases it can take up to 2 years to reach profitability.

So, be sure to allow a proportion of your initial budget to launch and maintain your online marketing through this growth period. Once operational, the business will also require a monthly investment of time to maintain your visibility.

Identify the specific marketing mechanisms you need to use – such as discount coupons, gift certificates, shopping comparison sites, product review aggregators, social media channels (Facebook, Twitter) and search engines.

Review competitor sites
Take the time to search out competitor sites, in the same way your customers will.

Make a note of how you found them, as this can be a strong indication of the sort of marketing that is working. Also look at how products are being depicted – including the number of photos, descriptive detail, specifications, reviews, ratings and comparisons. Consumer expectations are continually rising in terms of the amount of information and quality of presentation.
Examine what kind of assurances are made regarding product returns, warranty, support, service, shipping costs and satisfaction guarantees. Some market segments extend consumers extraordinary levels of protection from wrong choices. Be aware of the difference between what you are obligated to provide from a government regulatory point of view and what you need to add in order to be competitive.

Analyse freight costs
Analysis of abandoned shopping carts has shown that shipping costs are one of the major factors in lost sales. If unexpectedly high, buyers will abandon their orders without hesitation. Seeking out ways to simplify freight calculation, reduce freight costs and eliminate cost shock must be high on your list of priorities. If possible, let customers know the freight cost up front.

Compare payment gateways
Getting ready to accept online transactions can involve several steps. Check out the requirements of gateway providers in your market. Many gateway providers have raised the bar on the standards that must be met before they will activate your account. In some instances, they will want to review the finished website to check for appropriate security measures, privacy statements, return policies, business information and branding. It pays to know exactly what will be required before you get started, so you can factor this into the project time-frame and progress application details early on to allow for processing delays.

Check out risks and hidden costs
You should factor in consideration in budget projections to cover for product returns, shipping losses and transaction fraud based on current industry norms – which can be researched at the time you start the business.

Also thoroughly investigate the payment options you intend to offer, to fully understand the costs, fees and extraordinary charges in the event of processing issues. There are many payment services available, and costs can vary considerably. Be sure to shop around, and look at how costs may change as your payment volumes rise or fall.

Check product complexity
Deciding how your product catalog must be organised is a fundamental requirement of your new business. Some products are simple – just a price, description and photo. But others can add complexities such as variations in sizes, colours, specifications, options and personalisation. Many simpler ecommerce systems cannot easily handle such requirements.
Furthermore, your product catalog may require items to be in multiple categories, or perhaps even to have more than one way of being categorised. For example, you might initially present items by categories of uses, but then also let people browse by manufacturer and brand. Work through these needs ahead of time, and also consider the value of being able to offer a list of similar products to help with cross selling (offering complementary products at the time of product selection) and up selling (offering better products or additional items after the purchase decision has been made).

Finally - process of elimination
The planning you have just completed will provide you a clear list of needs that must be met by the systems you consider. Doing a little homework will often reveal that a budget end option you were looking at is actually too limited. Having to upgrade to a new system down the track can be costly both in terms of budget and lost business momentum. The key is to have a clear strategy guiding your choices so you can rationally eliminate ecommerce solutions that don’t meet your requirements.

Internet Online Company Promotion-Business Strategy

Along with your business strategy, websites promotion plans is only of the most important long-term plans you'll make for websites. Some little business owners choose to ignore that advice, instead preferring to fly by the seat of their pants, so to speak, to "wing it." While some of those little business owners are effective, they're not nearly as effective as they could be had they laid out a well-defined internet online company promotion business strategy.

Small online company promotion technique phase 1: Know your market

The first phase in creating an effective internet online company promotion technique is to make sure that you have a really solid handle on your audience.

Ask yourself: Who are my customers? Once you've identified who they are, ask yourself: What are my clients' problems? What are their dreams and aspirations? The surest way to answer those questions, of course, is to ask your clients themselves. Even if you can't afford to hire a online company promotion firm that will conduct focus group tests for you, you can do your own simple survey by hitting the streets and talking to those people you strategy to sell to (and make contacts at the same time!). You'd be surprised how powerful that simple task is yet how few businesses do it.

Small online company promotion technique phase 2: Know yourself

The second phase in creating websites online company promotion technique is to get to know yourself (your business), once you've gotten to know your clients.

Ask yourself: What does my company do? How is my company different than my competitors'? How does my company help solve my clients' problems or help them achieve their dreams? Answering these questions will help you to define your unique selling proposition - those aspects that set you apart from your opponents.

That unique selling proposition should become your company - your business's identity. Your company is what will pervade all of your ads and what your clients will use to identify you. The importance of diligently creating your company as part of a effective internet online company promotion technique can't be overstated.

First, look at your competitors' online company promotion strategies. Are there obvious gaps that you could fill (and thereby stand out among the competition)? For example, if you see that none of your opponents have websites, you could stand out with an internet online company promotion technique online business strategy.

Wherever you industry your company, it must be where your clients are. For example, online company online promotion will be a waste if none of your clients use the Internet. Likewise, you may think that writing a monthly column in your local newspaper would be a great way to advertise your services and establish yourself as an expert; but if none of your clients read that paper, that internet online company promotion technique will fail.

At this point, websites online promotion technique will not only be defined by where your clients are and what your opponents are doing, but it will also depend on websites promotion budget. A full-page spread in a national magazine may be the best way to reach your target audience, but if you can't afford to shell out tens of thousands of dollars, it's not the internet online company promotion way of you.

Wherever websites promotion strategy takes you, the careful development of websites online company promotion technique - by knowing your industry, knowing your company, and analyzing your competitors' strategies - will be a critical determinant of your long-term company success.

Ability To Execute Business Strategy

It is all running on! With the right people is great. Knowledge of the growth of the five effective practices is great. But if you cannot go, you're dead!
The ability to perform is an essential skill to perform all organizations to be highly competent in the absence of capacity; it is not a company to grow and performance.

Four divisions of a company should focus on improving their ability to perform.
Define specific objectives: Many companies do not have specific targets. Assets mean that you can measure success - with numbers.
Goals with the resources: Many companies have achieved many goals based on the limited resources available. Successful companies are completely complementary to a short list of goals there.
Link incentives to performance: people are motivated by incentives and performance goals. Successful companies will promote the objectives, incentives to achieve.
Develop a culture of accountability: Successful companies are heavily concentrated in agreement on the goal to measure progress and hold people accountable discipline. This is where most companies fail.

Implementation of business strategy will stumble if you do not have a clear idea about opportunities in your sales team and your managers have the means to a successful implementation of the strategy.

Have your product lines and service offerings represent the past or to request future priorities in your area?
Does your company have a culture of performance, accountability and adaptability?
Your organization is updated on the current market need?
How does your sales team to compete for time in industry and in the profile to compare?
Is designed to understanding your organization structurally and culturally specific potential partner?
If your organization is deep enough for the network of strategic alliances to respond nimbly to market changes?
The successful implementation of Business strategy will depend on the realism
Effective policy implementation depends on your ability to take these factors into your plan should be included. Do not let yourself or your organization, other leaders pay lip service to these areas and progress.
Runtime error is not a single shocking event. It does not happen overnight. Just because something bad has happened in the second week or two months of a program does not mean that disaster on track. Runtime errors are a few mistakes in the sentence, repeated every day - which ultimately led to the collapse of the implementation.
Implementation success comes from doing ordinary things extraordinarily well. The problem is that these disciplines are not easy. Again and again, this is the reason for the chaos we see in performance.
Four core subject areas into a strong platform for successful implementation to offer:
Clear guidelines on the subject of relevant cases
The good people at the right place
Rational planning
Effective control

The business that we end up creating a plan for, generally looks very different from the one the client came to us with, why?  When you look at business planning from a strategic perspective, you often find internal inconsistencies in the strategy.  Ie.  If you do this, then you simply can't do that!  The strategy is best developed by asking a series of targeted questions (HyperQuestions).

Small Business Data Backup Strategy

Hopefully, if you are a small business owner, you are not merely reading this article to determine if you actually need a business data backup strategy. Instead, with any luck, you have already determined that you desperately need one because, indeed, you do.

In general, a business data backup strategy is inherently simple. Develop an in-house solution that meets your immediate needs and then, when the time is right, migrate the entire solution to a reliable, third party, offsite data backup vendor. There is only one fault in this plan, it is far easier to conceptualize than to accomplish.

The Problem

Most small businesses have the foresight to back up their most valuable data. Just as many, however, fail to recognize the need to have a backup strategy that will replace their entire operating system, applications and data if the entire network should crash.

In the preceding situation, the small business owner is faced with the arduous task of reloading everything from scratch.

Obviously, these procedures will take time. It is time that your company does not have for it is essentially disconnected from your vendors, your information and, most importantly, from your customers.

To reiterate, your customers will, in most cases, be unable to conduct business with your company. Of course, you will have manual procedures to handle the most valuable customers but there is a limit to how much your staff can accomplish without their normal business tools. In short, business and potential clients will be lost.

The Immediate Solution

An in-house business data backup solution is perfectly workable as long as your company invests in the proper equipment and software. Solutions exist that will provide real time archiving of your business data and will also provide a mirror image of your entire operating system with applications.
The result is that, in the event of a partial or catastrophic failure, your system can be rebooted, in its entirety, in a matter of minutes. In fact, the process is so quick that any lags noticed by our customers will probably be blamed on faulty Internet service rather than anything to do with your site. The procedure is almost transparent to customers and employees.

The physical security of this system is also important. Fires, floods and theft can derail your business as easily as a hacker attack. The actual hard drive should be water and fire proof and securable in such a a way as to be, essentially, theft proof.

Long Term Strategy

Once an in-house business data backup solution has been developed, your business is secured against almost every type of catastrophic failure. The next step in the strategy should be to optimize your IT resources to gain the most robust system with the greatest security at the most affordable price.

Retaining a reputable and reliable business data backup company to provide these services is the obvious answer. Off-site business data backup from a third party offers several more essential benefits for a growing small business. The vendor will install, monitor, maintain and secure the system.
This is an important distinction from in-house services as these companies are able to provide higher levels of service, monitoring and security because they are able to leverage their costs across multiple clients. It is a win-win situation.

What’s Next?

You’ve already taken the first step towards a business database backup strategy by deciding that you need one. All that remains is to explore what is the right solution for your immediate and long term needs. A reputable company can answer these questions as well as any others that may develop.
